Not every LTC Insurance participant received the CNA letter to MLTC Partnership participants.  Why?

Our group currently participates in the Long Term Care Insurance. Recently, CNA sent out a letter to participants regarding the Minnesota Long Term Care Partnership Program. Why did some of the participants receive letters while others did not?

The Minnesota Long Term Care Partnership Program is a unique arrangement between long term care insurers and Minnesota's Medicaid/Medical Assistance program. CNA was the first carrier to offer a group long term care plan approved for this partnership.

Everyone who has elected Long Term Care Insurance does not automatically qualify for the Partnership program. Only those employees who elected specific inflation protection - the lifetime compound Automatic Benefit Increase (ABI) option - received the letter. An individual under age 76 must have a plan that includes ABI to be eligible for the protection of assets provided by the Partnership Program. Your employees can find out what benefit option they elected by calling CNA at 1-888-825-0686.
